BACK ON TRACK
After suffering a major slump during the early part of the campaign, MLS club LA Galaxy looks like getting back to their best after a string of victories recently. Landon Donovan has been at the forefront of everything good at LA Galaxy in the last few weeks. The American striker has rediscovered his scoring touch after failing to score in the initial few matches of the campaign. The arrival of Robbie Keane from England has also done a lot of good to the club. Robbie Keane is a striker, who apart from scoring, also helps the team score as well.
Recently, LA Galaxy completed their 2-1 win over Colorado Rapids. It was a match in which Landon Donovan scored once again in the 39th minute to get LA Galaxy lead in the match, which they never relinquished. It was a second goal of the evening for Landon Donovan, while it helped the club get their hands on the MLS Supporters’ Shield. This is the first back to back titles for LA Galaxy after they have already won this title back in 2011. It has Landon Donovan scored the winning goal for LA Galaxy back then as well. Galaxy’s return to form has also been partly due to the full fitness shown by David Beckham in recent weeks.
The English midfielder was not 100% during the start of the campaign, but the former Manchester United, Real Madrid, and AC Milan midfielder has said that he is once again enjoy football right now. The poor start to the season allowed San Jose earthquakes to build strong lead in the table. LA Galaxy are currently seventh in the table. Former United States national team manager Bruce Arena came under intense criticism initially, but it seems that he has steadied the ship.
